☊ Draconic Chart

The draconic chart resets the zodiac to the True North Node, uncovering deeper soul-level patterns and karmic connections invisible in the tropical chart.

Draconic Chart 1

Overview

The draconic chart shifts all positions so that the True North Node becomes 0° Aries: - Reveals patterns related to the soul's purpose and karma - All planets get new zodiac positions relative to the node - Compare tropical and draconic positions side by side - Full aspect analysis for the draconic chart - Draconic-to-tropical synastry reveals deep connections - Particularly meaningful for relationships with strong nodal contacts - Optional house transformation - Export draconic chart and tables

Dragon's Natal Chart

The Draconic chart is the same natal chart, but with the zodiac shifted so that the True North Node is at 0 degrees Aries. The longitude of each planet is adjusted by subtracting the node's longitude, and the chart is reinterpreted in the new reference frame.

Aspects between planets remain unchanged: the shift is the same for all points. Signs, houses, and positions relative to angles change, so the chart is read differently, even though the geometry stays the same.

Why people read it

Lunar nodes in tradition are associated with the theme of direction and what a person brings with them. The Draconic chart sets this axis as the starting point, so it is read as a layer of motives that do not always coincide with what the tropical chart describes.

The most interesting aspect of comparing two charts is when a planet in the tropical chart at 12° Libra aligns with the same 12° Libra in the draconic chart, creating a point of convergence that is often clearly significant in a biography.

How to Read Comparisons

View conjunctions of the draconic planets with the tropical ones within 1-2 degrees. Draconic Sun conjunct tropical Moon, draconic Mars conjunct tropical Ascendant: such overlays describe themes a person experiences most intensely.

The Draconic chart does not replace the natal chart nor contradict it. It is a second layer that only works in tandem with the first: first the tropical chart, then the question it highlights in the Draconic.

  • Dragon points conjunction with natal and angles
  • Draconic synastry for comparing two people

Dragon's Chart in Synastry

Comparison of one person's draconic chart with another's tropical chart provides an additional layer of connection. The conjunction of the draconic Sun with the partner's tropical Moon is found in pairs that describe relationships as coincidental.

It's worth considering this without mysticism: the technique describes how deep the relationships are perceived, and says nothing about their duration. Duration is read by Saturn and by synastry in the usual form.
