Jupiter Square Neptune

The square of Jupiter: True greatness does not need proof, only measurement. The square of Jupiter promises much to the planet... unfortunately, these promises often remain unfulfilled. In the spheres governed by the planet, a person feels their greatness—both potential and actual—but others usually fail to see it or doubt it, while the potential somehow never manifests. The square of Jupiter grants expansion to the planet, but not in the way the person desires: either in the wrong direction, in an alien style, or simply not what was expected; at least, that is how it seems to the person. This square (which can be called the aspect of Lucifer) brings the temptation of pride, superficiality, and too-easy attainment of things that are not quite what the person wanted, and certainly not what they need for evolutionary growth. In the planet’s spheres, the person exhibits a constant superficial interest in "higher matters," philosophical generalizations, and abstract-religious approaches, but tends to stop precisely at the point where something truly important and interesting begins—something that does not appear as a luxurious Jupiterian gift but requires minimal focused effort. For example, a Venus–Jupiter square with a prominent Jupiter may produce a person who attracts a great deal of love, appears beautiful, interesting, and unusual at first glance, yet in actual romantic relationships proves entirely consumed by their own beauty, charm, and grandeur, utterly incapable (and unwilling) to spare even a fleeting glance for their partner. The result is a sense of complete isolation and hopelessness in social (not to mention emotional and sexual) connections, though self-admiration remains undiminished. Karmically, this aspect signifies the need (in the planet’s spheres) to learn to treat the gifts and open doors of fate with extreme caution and care, understanding that they imply further work and are ultimately meant for the world, not the individual. At a low level, the person tends to assume the role of a generous benefactor in the relevant areas—if even the slightest opportunity arises—though this role is executed poorly, as their self-interest, inadequacy, or irrelevance of their "generosity" is painfully evident, and their overall clumsiness provokes more irritation than pity or gratitude (the latter likely to trouble the person greatly). Proper integration yields a rare ability to use one’s luck karmically correctly, rejecting false opportunities and temptations to receive the priceless gift of true spiritual assistance, as well as the capacity to recognize similar struggles in others and guide them (in the planet’s spheres) toward the right path, revealing the karmic role of their temptations and seductions—and especially their personal arrogance and pride. The square of Neptune: One needs a great deal of inner honesty to recognize its absence in oneself. This is a difficult aspect. The square of Neptune distorts meditations, often of a lower order, while simultaneously creating an inexplicable attraction to the planetary principle, coupled with a very poor understanding of it—or rather, a false understanding, illusions, and delusions that the person finds hard to believe and even harder to relinquish. Neptune deceives the person, who in turn deceives the world and themselves, then catches glimpses of this deception and stops trusting—just in case—anything at all, including themselves, though not for long (or rather, only partially), after which they deceive themselves and the world again, and the world deceives them in turn. This can lead to an abyss of despair, vice, or, conversely, awaken a lofty aspiration and call the person to God. The outcome is hard to predict, but in any case, the person must remain ever vigilant and never consider any conquered position permanently secured. In this case, the lower nature may feed on filthy meditations (alcohol, drugs, family scandals, etc.), and reforming it will not be easy. The Neptune–Saturn square can produce a perverse enjoyment of one’s own inability to act, and the person may live for a long time in a cycle: a brief, concentrated effort ending in nothing—a prolonged meditation on their own worthlessness, with a masochistic tinge, likely dragging in close relatives and a psychoanalyst. (In general, squares involving higher planets are aspects of dark teachers, here with a mystical and psychological slant.) Karmically, this aspect signifies the necessity of working through self-deception and lower meditations ("vice") in the material of the planetary principle, whose activation makes the corresponding subconscious programs strikingly clear. Integration here is complex; it requires abandoning all lower meditations (including sweet self-accusations) and engaging in consistent, honest, constructive work in the areas governed by the planet. Helpful here is the activation of Pluto and, to some extent, the integration of Saturn. At a high level, the person perceives the subtlest expressions of the planetary principle and its connection to the principle of cosmic love as it manifests in external reality and the souls of specific people, which may make them a mystic, preacher, or saint—but they will never rid themselves of the irrational sense of guilt toward the world in the planet’s spheres.

They are found in creative and talented people who lack proper self-discipline and therefore are unable to use their creative energies productively. They tend to exaggerate and display unusual carelessness in legal and financial matters, leading to numerous legal and financial problems. They are quick-tempered and overly emotional, which is especially evident in their personal relationships. Their experience of love is often painful and fraught with disappointment. Such people often exist in an atmosphere of rumors, gossip, and reproaches. They are characterized by an excess of feelings, a lack of discipline in their worldview, and chaos in everyday affairs. They exhibit a passion for travel and enjoy aimless wanderings, whether in reality or in dreams. They are friendly and sympathetic, but they lavish their affections indiscriminately, promising much more than they can deliver. At times, their lofty idealism has no connection to reality; they are generally inclined to build castles in the air and dislike sitting still, either literally or figuratively. Such people are often sentimental to the point of tearfulness, but they are unable to provide practical help to those in need, as they are unable to put in the necessary effort. With a negative character development, they turn out to be dishonest chatterboxes and boasters, adept at painting their own plans in a beautifully crafted way that resembles soap bubbles. They are often lazy, vain, prone to obesity, have a passion for gourmandism, and a rather heavy appearance. These people can be unintentionally insincere, very absent-minded and unreliable, sometimes prone to religious delusions of grandeur and fruitless rumination on a variety of subjects.

An excess of feelings, undisciplined, religious idealism, disconnected from reality, bearing strange fruits. They build castles in the air, but in life's affairs, there is chaos. They crave extraordinary experiences through travel or mystical societies. A passion for travel prevents them from settling down. Aimless wanderings, whether in reality or dreams. They are friendly, sympathetic, and generous with their sympathy. They are often tearful, but are unable to help in practice, as this requires effort. They promise more than they can deliver. Sometimes dishonest, they are talkative, chatterboxes, and are good at describing their plans without any basis. They lack discipline and the ability to implement their projects. Laziness, unless refuted. The rich live in vanity and gourmandism. Excess weight or fluid accumulation in the body, a heavy appearance.

Opposition, square: religiosity becomes really aggressive. A person with this aspect is characterized by a desire to loudly proclaim his religiosity and use it in the struggle for influence and power. If it comes to extremes, then at a certain aspect of Jupiter and Uranus the person considers himself a God, in the case of a conflict between Jupiter and Neptune he imagines himself an infallible pope. On a more modest scale of influence, there is an inability to take a clear position, an inability to fit in, a tendency to rely too much on oneself and others.

Your tendency to compromise and settle for less than you dreamed can be a problem. Given the opportunity, you may choose the path of least resistance, willing to bypass some of the things you always wanted in favor of expediency. Career moves must be given special attention. Tension results when you ignore your own desires (the things you need and want) and take a course of action, job, career, or whatever that can never satisfy. Or worse, you may find yourself in a job that is compromising.

An excess of emotions, idealism. They build "air castles," and in real life - chaos. A desire for unusual experiences - in travels, in sects. Aimless wanderings in dreams and reality. They lavish sympathy without discrimination, often tearful, but unable to help in deed. Sometimes eloquent, skillfully outlining their plans, which they are unable to fulfill. If there are no mitigating aspects - laziness, dishonesty. If there is money - excesses, love of luxury, excessive weight.

A strong tendency toward idealization, danger of being deceived; disappointments, losses; a tendency toward slander and intrigue; immoral behavior, extravagance. Positive side: high spiritual aspirations, self-sacrifice, mercy, compassion.
