Mercury Square Saturn

A square of Mercury: If a thought comes to mind but does not settle into words, it means it was poorly invited. If the planet is stronger in the square, it may replace part of Saturn’s purely Saturnian spheres with its own principle, suppressing discipline and concentration; for example, a square of Venus–Saturn with a strong Saturn gives (at a low level) rigidity and crudeness in social contacts and love, while with a strong Venus it may instead produce frivolity and indiscrimination in relationships (especially if the square is in a mutable cross); in either case, the person’s heart will remain frozen. A square of Saturn makes the planet’s principle impossible to manifest naturally; here, the person requires wisdom and precise adherence to the karmic program, which in this place (as if by mischief!) is very subtle and winding. The situation is like trying to carve wood with an axe or dance a ballroom dance in a diving suit. When the person begins, every movement is clumsy—coarse and unsatisfactory from any perspective—but the desire to learn and ambition can be very strong, and much depends on the person themselves, their inner honesty, and their general drive to actualize themselves and participate in the evolutionary process (as they understand it). Processing the square of Saturn gives the person subtlety, wisdom, and the ability to see and help develop corresponding abilities in others when they are not yet noticeable to anyone else.

This is a reserved, timid, hardworking, responsible, and at the same time ambitious person of a conservative disposition, adhering to all that is traditional and established. More often than others, these people encounter numerous problems in early childhood, most of which are concentrated in their relationship with their father. This often leads to the development of insecurity, vulnerability, a tendency toward depression, and a habit of doubting everything and everyone. At the same time, overcoming the negative influence of these aspects, a person can become a great politician or a prominent financier. In the case of a negative character development, they behave surprisingly unpleasantly, displaying rare irritability, melancholy, anxiety, and outright cowardice. It is their egoism that leads them to encounter various difficulties. Most often, such a person is himself to blame for the hostile attitude toward him, for he is a spiteful enemy and a false friend. Vitality is noticeably diminished, and excessive criticism often results in a bad mood. Failures dog this person at every step. The mind is confined within the framework of tradition—such a person finds it difficult to promote their ideas and gain recognition from others. They are sometimes disciplined to the point of stiffness, which dulls their creative potential. There is a constant fear of changes in life and affairs. They are simultaneously jealous and callous in expressing their feelings, a chronic pessimist of sorts. They meticulously and unquestioningly follow all prescribed rules, but this does not help them—they often become the object of ridicule and intrigue. They lack imagination, being fixated on insignificant details. Even if an original thought arises, its realization is hindered by the conservatives around them.

Poor memory, the mind becomes pedantic and bureaucratic. Pickiness develops, and the person may become a literalist. Stubbornness, mental strictness, egoism, callousness, coldness, arrogance; disorganization, cowardice, insecurity, mistrust, suspicion, cunning, secrecy, deceit, guile, treachery, melancholy, stinginess, materialism; difficulties, obstacles. Tardiness; erroneous messages; speech defects. The positive side of these aspects is that pedantry turns into order, precision, punctuality; persistence, diligence in study and intellectual pursuits.

Too preoccupied, limited intellect or traditional, little imagination, fixated on insignificant details. If their own thoughts appear, it's hard to achieve recognition as conservatives hinder - this is the irony of fate. Received strict upbringing, disciplined, traditional. As a result, creative abilities are dulled. Stiff, unfeeling, strictly follow order, fear change. Cowardly, always expect failure, jealous, pessimistic. With a generally poor horoscope - intrigue, conscious dishonesty. Written messages and contracts harm them.

Opposition, square: self-doubt in terms of mental abilities, slow assimilation of knowledge or inability to concentrate are not uncommon. Difficulty in expressing your thoughts. In the worst case - limitation, narrowness of interests, the fruits of reasoning are insignificant, theories are raised to the skies - and complete indifference to practice. Sometimes confidence in the lack of abilities is compensated by an insatiable thirst for new knowledge.

Your child may not be as eloquent and expressive as he is precise in thinking, neat, and logical. He studies thoroughly, but can be overly insecure, vulnerable and anxious. Prone to depression.
