Opposition of Venus: The world’s insufficient love for you is not proof of its complete selfishness. If they emphasize the Venusian principle—that is, perceive themselves as a free artist with no obligations except to dwell in the realm of the Beautiful—they reject Saturn’s principle of discipline, effectively externalizing it, and the lack of truly persistent and focused effort (internal slackness, i.e., a weak Saturn internally) leads to the activation of Saturn externally: various obstacles arise, and the sense that the outside world is cold and disapproving of the person takes hold. Conversely, internalizing Saturn—fixating on its principle, when the person turns inward, immerses themselves in solitary serious work, or simply ignores the world entirely—leads to the activation of Venus in external life: suddenly, guests with champagne appear, invitations to balls arrive, and admirers or lovers come to life (if Venus has harmonious aspects), or sharp social conflicts arise, often with accusations of the person’s selfish behavior (if Venus is afflicted). In general, a major aspect of Venus raises the issue of love, and in the areas governed by the planet opposing Venus, the individual will at some point face a pressing question: do they want to love or to be loved? Working through this aspect brings a stable fusion of the planetary principle with the Venusian one: all expressions of the planet become perfectly formed and imbued with love for people; in the areas governed by the planet, the individual gains a profound understanding of others and the ability to influence large social programs. Opposition of Neptune: Lies are never a mere seasoning—they are always the main course. An opposition of Neptune at a low level creates problems of external and internal deception and self-deception in the areas governed by the planet; here, too, the theme of lower meditations arises—that is, vices of the kind governed by the planet. If the individual emphasizes Neptune, they may take pleasure in the lowest manifestations of the planet in the external world, and the self-deception may be so strong that they do not even consider their actions reprehensible, unworthy, or immoral. Conversely, if they emphasize the principle of the planet, the individual will encounter deception and misunderstanding in the outside world and will genuinely wonder what is going on, unaware that internal dishonesty, self-deception, and deceiving others create a cloud of the lower octave of Neptune around them, and the world begins to deceive them through specific people and through their fate itself. For example, in an opposition of Mars to Neptune (at a low level, this is a very dangerous aspect), the individual may internally revel in any external activity, especially aggression, completely oblivious to its destructive consequences for the world and others. Then, the situation shifts slightly, and aggression from the outside world turns against them, while Neptune produces a sense of complete incomprehension, resentment, and injustice—all with a sickly sweet aftertaste of lower Neptunian meditation of a masochistic nature. Then (oh horror!) the emphasis of the opposition flips, distorting external reality: the person loses their understanding of others entirely, and internally, destructive Martian self-aggression begins, possibly accompanied by acute guilt and remorse, which the outside world categorically fails to understand or accept. Then the emphasis shifts again... Working through this aspect is difficult, as it requires profound, intimate, and essential changes in the person’s attitude toward the planet’s principle—they must learn to understand and love it and, in the relevant areas, be honest with themselves and the outside world, at least to the point of not lying outright. For example, an opposition of Neptune to the Ascendant (i.e., Neptune conjunct the Descendant) demands that the person stop lying to their partners and open enemies (to which they are strongly inclined), or they will never escape the cloud of universal deceit and false positions. At a high level of development, the individual gains a stable, subtle, and deep understanding of the planet’s principle, the ability to engage in elevated meditations in its spheres, which they can then cautiously and gently convey to others.

For these people, it's crucial to control their unrealistic idealism, emotional excesses, and the constant struggle between reason and feelings. They are easily seduced and deceived, both materially and politically. Emotions and emotions are controlled by subconscious forces. They often self-inflicted harm in matters of money, marriage, social life, and creativity. Subconscious instincts create illusions, distorting reality. Laziness and the thirst for pleasure lead to alcoholism and drug abuse.
