Jupiter Opposition Neptune

Opposition of Jupiter: If, by being proud of another, we identify with them, then by being proud of ourselves, we must project onto someone else. The opposition of Jupiter gives the planet (and the person themselves in the spheres governed by it) a sense of extraordinary personal importance. Indeed, working through such an opposition grants the planet an exceptionally stable (karmically) privileged position and constantly emerging opportunities to expand its principle, both in the life of the person themselves and in the lives of those connected to them. At a low level, however, there is no constructive interaction between the Jupiterian and planetary principles, and depending on the emphasis on the planets in the opposition, a person falls into one of two positions. Of course, it is more pleasant when the emphasis is on Jupiter, and the person in the spheres of influence of the planet inwardly feels like a wealthy benefactor who can choose whom to favor. However, in this case, the principle of the planet is lost behind their conceit, gradually externalized, and begins to work against the person themselves. For example, the opposition of Jupiter to Venus may give a talented and highly erudite art critic, but at a low level of aspect processing, the person will only seem (yet with complete inner conviction) that they excel in art (and love), constantly imposing their opinions with aplomb and repeatedly making blunders, which, however, may not bother them much. (An emphasized opposition of Jupiter, for example, its opposition to a stellium, can, alongside great opportunities and abilities and strong patrons, give complete blindness to one’s own greatness, insane conceit, and total lack of self-criticism.) An emphasis on the planet, on the other hand, activates various external opportunities for realizing its principle, which is a great temptation for the person, but the working out of the aspect lies in expanding internal possibilities. Thus, with the opposition of Venus to Jupiter, this alternative in a situation where the emphasis is on Venus may look like this: either external fame, exhibitions, public and international activities, or a shift in the creative channel (mastered style or technique) and the development of something new. The opposition of Saturn to Jupiter may, at some point, present a person with a choice: either rigid control over numerous subordinates, or the development and mastery of vast areas of inner space. Life may require both, but it is important not to confuse the order of these life stages. Opposition of Neptune: A lie is never just a seasoning—it is always the main course. The opposition of Neptune at a low level raises the issue of external and internal lies and self-deception in the spheres governed by the planet; here, too, the theme of lower meditations arises, i.e., vices: that variety which is governed by the planet. By emphasizing Neptune, a person may derive pleasure from the lowest manifestations of the planet in the external world, and the self-deception may be so strong that the person does not even consider that they are engaging in something reprehensible, unworthy, or immoral. Conversely, by emphasizing the principle of the planet, the person will encounter deception and misunderstanding in the external world and will genuinely wonder what is wrong, not realizing that internal dishonesty, self-deception, and deceiving others create a cloud of the lower octave of Neptune around them, and the world begins to deceive them through specific people and simply through their fate. For example, with the opposition of Mars to Neptune (at a low level, this is a very dangerous aspect), a person may inwardly enjoy any external activity, especially aggression, completely unaware of its destructive consequences for the world and others. Then the situation will slightly shift, and the aggression of the external world will turn against them, while Neptune will produce the effect of complete misunderstanding, resentment, and injustice about what is happening to them, all with a sweet aftertaste of lower Neptunian meditation of a masochistic type. Then (oh horror!) the emphasis of the opposition will switch to the opposite, distorting external reality—i.e., the person will lose all understanding of others, and internally, destructive Martian self-aggression will begin, possibly with acute feelings of guilt and remorse, which the external world will categorically not understand or accept. Then the emphasis will change again... Working through this is difficult because it requires deep, intimate, and essential changes in a person’s attitude toward the planet’s principle—they must learn to understand and love it and be honest with themselves and the external world in the corresponding spheres, at least not lying outright. For example, the opposition of Neptune to the Ascendant (i.e., Neptune in conjunction with the Descendant) requires that the person stop lying to their partners and open enemies (to which they are very inclined), or they will never extricate themselves from the cloud of universal lies and false positions. At a high level of working through the aspect, a person gains a stable, subtle, and deep understanding of the planet’s principle, the ability for high meditations in its spheres, which they can cautiously and gently convey to others.

They are found in creative and talented people who lack proper self-discipline and therefore are unable to use their creative energies productively. They tend to exaggerate and display unusual carelessness in legal and financial matters, leading to numerous legal and financial problems. They are quick-tempered and overly emotional, which is especially evident in their personal relationships. Their experience of love is often painful and fraught with disappointment. Such people often exist in an atmosphere of rumors, gossip, and reproaches. They are characterized by an excess of feelings, a lack of discipline in their worldview, and chaos in everyday affairs. They exhibit a passion for travel and enjoy aimless wanderings, whether in reality or in dreams. They are friendly and sympathetic, but they lavish their affections indiscriminately, promising much more than they can deliver. At times, their lofty idealism has no connection to reality; they are generally inclined to build castles in the air and dislike sitting still, either literally or figuratively. Such people are often sentimental to the point of tearfulness, but they are unable to provide practical help to those in need, as they are unable to put in the necessary effort. With a negative character development, they turn out to be dishonest chatterboxes and boasters, adept at painting their own plans in a beautifully crafted way that resembles soap bubbles. They are often lazy, vain, prone to obesity, have a passion for gourmandism, and a rather heavy appearance. These people can be unintentionally insincere, very absent-minded and unreliable, sometimes prone to religious delusions of grandeur and fruitless rumination on a variety of subjects.

Unintentionally insincere, absent-minded, they promise what they cannot deliver. Unreliable and impractical, unless other factors are present. There is a flaw corresponding to the sign and house where Jupiter and Neptune are located. In the worst case, religious megalomania occurs, depending on the position of Mercury and Saturn. Often, there is a tendency toward religious mysticism, and their religious beliefs are distorted. Idealism brings no practical benefit to people. They are generous and willing to help, but lack judgment. Sentimental, with an excess of feelings that is unpleasant for others. They are inclined to cults. They feel themselves to be spiritually chosen. They dream of unusual trips. This aspect is associated with religious pilgrimage. Danger from gas, fumes, drugs, and alcohol threatens. Little practical experience, and obstacles in financial and social affairs.

Opposition, square: religiosity becomes really aggressive. A person with this aspect is characterized by a desire to loudly proclaim his religiosity and use it in the struggle for influence and power. If it comes to extremes, then at a certain aspect of Jupiter and Uranus the person considers himself a God, in the case of a conflict between Jupiter and Neptune he imagines himself an infallible pope. On a more modest scale of influence, there is an inability to take a clear position, an inability to fit in, a tendency to rely too much on oneself and others.

Your vocation may be less than ideal and not what you dreamed it could be. Chances are that you have chosen the course you are now on, ignoring other more imaginative solutions. If you have abandoned your dreams, the likelihood is that you did it deliberately and with the eyes open. You may fear being carried away by your imagination, or perhaps you see a more ideal existence as some form of escape. You worry about being deceived or seduced by your own dreams.

Insincere without intent. Absent-minded. They promise something they cannot deliver. Sometimes there is a tendency towards religious mysticism. They are generous, ready to help, but do not know how. Sentimental; their excess of feelings is often unpleasant to others. They feel like they are chosen spiritually. They dream of unusual travels. Sometimes they actually make pilgrimages. They are in danger through gas, drugs, and alcohol.

A strong tendency toward idealization, danger of being deceived; disappointments, losses; a tendency toward slander and intrigue; immoral behavior, extravagance. Positive side: high spiritual aspirations, self-sacrifice, mercy, compassion.
