I Ching: Obstruction
Dynamism, provocation
Energy that provokes others during periods of emotional stagnation or depression. People who are born to provoke the spirit of others during periods of emotional stagnation. Summary of the Gates in Rave Chart Structure: Center: Root Circuit: Knowing The Channel of Emoting (39-55) Quarter (II): Civilization Deity: Parvati Physiology: Adrenal glands (adrenaline glands) Additional notes: no Provocation occurs in different ways: someone can be "offended" even by idleness (both the 39th and the 55th are the Gates of indecision). In fact, this is the Gate of Flirting. If the holders of the 39th Gate receive a negative reaction to their provocation, then the spirit of the other person does not resonate with them and they better learn not to take it personally. They should evoke pleasure instead of pain and joy instead of sadness (although actors with this channel use it quite effectively). How successfully they awaken the desired reaction in another person directly depends on the mood of the 39th Gate: if it is bad, then they can unexpectedly cause suffering in others. They are also always looking for someone to fall in love with. Since this is the Gate of the Root Center, it endows its owner with specific coping strategies in dealing with stress, for example, in incorrectness this can lead to overeating or refusal to eat. The 39th Gate needs the 55th in the form of someone who can be provoked in order to determine one's own feelings in this way. Details →I Ching: Abundance
Freedom, emotional depth
Emotional energy looking for opportunities to bring abundance. People deeply melancholy, musical and romantic. Summary of the Gates in Rave Chart Structure: Center: Solar Plexus Circuit: Knowing The Channel of Emoting (39-55) Quarter (I): Initiation Deity: Kali Physiology: Spinal ganglion Additional notes: no The 55th Gate is accompanied by emotional ups and downs, forcing its owners to be in a constant search for a perfect state, whether it be a feeling of peace, love or delight. These Gates are deeply acoustic, so they are usually sensitive to what others say and in what tone. In addition, this is the Gate of variability (inconstancy, capriciousness), which can color behavior in shades incomprehensible to other people. The 55th Gate is always right about how they feel, but they need to learn not to take all the emotions they experience personally. The 55s are literally waiting for the 39s to provoke them in order to determine their feelings: on the rise of an emotional wave, they feel at home, and on a decline, they feel melancholy. However, it is better for such people to give up trying to explain and control their mood and learn to wait for clarity until the emotional wave (their own or someone else's) goes through all the stages. Lines — six stages of development of this energy and possible extremes in its manifestation: Line 1 Co-operation. Jupiter exalted. The expansion of activity through cooperation with powerful forces through principled actions that guarantee continued support and engender prosperity. The potential to find the spirit through co-operation with powerful forces. Venus in detriment. The concentration on harmonic relationships with powerful forces that provide for continuity but not necessarily advancement. The potential to harmonize with powerful forces but not necessarily for the benefit of the spirit. Line 2 Distrust. Abundance hampered by slander or gossip. Venus exalted. The gift of being able to penetrate to the center that may demonstrate effectively through its relating talents, that its trustfullness is genuine. Emotional stability and the strength of the spirit is dependent on being trusted by others. The Earth in detriment. The direct challenge to the slanderers who will always have the advantage of quoting the Bard: 'Methinks he doth protest too much.' Only continued example can overcome distrust. The emotional drive to insist on trustworthiness that does not guarantee its acceptance by others or benefits the spirit. Line 3 Innocence. Here, 'I was only following orders', is a genuine defence. Saturn exalted. When the form is correct and attempts at actualization have been disciplined and within guidelines, failure cannot be personally attributed. The emotional possibilty to recognize that despite one's best efforts, failure is possible and does not need to affect the spirit. Mars in detriment. Mars in detriment, where a struggle against conformity or individual initiative can bring a superior to ruin while safely hiding behind his shield. The energy to selfishly protect one's spirit at the expense of others. Line 4 Assimilation. Jupiter exalted. The establishment of a framework that balances principles with energy and leads inevitably to expansion and prosperity. The possible spirit that comes when emotional awareness and energy are balanced and principled. Mars in detriment. Boundless energy that knows no restraint. Boundless energy that ignores awareness at the risk of the spirit. Line 5 Growth. Uranus exalted. The unusual ability in a position of power to accept advice and transform it innovatively. This gift in a position of power allows one to continue to lead rather than be- ing perceived as being led. The emotional strength and spirit derived from positions of power. Sun in detriment. An integrative openness that in its broad acceptance of advice may be eventually eclipsed. An emotional openness where the spirit is at risk from conditioning. Line 6 Selfishness. Saturn exalted. Acquisition obsession that though alienating, is still indirectly beneficial materially to others. The possibility of finding the spirit through materialism. The Moon in detriment. Where the material abundance exists, but no one gets to share its light. The 'no Moon' phase. The possibility that materialism becomes obsessive with a 'mean' spirit that will not share. 39 — 55 The Channel of Emoting A Design of Moodiness Solar Plexus Center Everything that can be called emotions, moods and experiences is connected with the Solar Plexus Center.
