The influence of Mars as the ruler of Aries is evident in Aries' facilitated access to Martian energy, which serves as their natural weapon – when needed and when not. However, during periods of depression, the influence of Saturn is very much felt, and this, along with the negative aspects described above, gives Aries the opportunity to reflect on themselves and their place among various energetic flows (which Aries sees as spirited steeds) and to advance a little on the path of spiritual growth. In general, it should be noted that Saturn is a quiet planet and likes to act on low energy, and wisdom is a subtle thing and is not heard on Aries' strong and crude energy. But during periods of depression, Aries hears Saturn, perhaps even better than Capricorn; how they will react to what they hear is another matter. Here, the general karmic task of Aries is complicated by the direct intervention of cosmic forces, whose action on a person through the Sun can be compared to the action of a screwdriver turning a screw. Until a person recognizes themselves as part of a larger cosmic program, their individual will (including conscious will) is practically under complete control (of an egregore), which is weakened only in the case of conscious and voluntary cooperation.
